Tracks 1 and 3 written by Noel Gallagher.
Track 2 written by Liam Gallagher.

1. Lyla - (5:01)

A very good choice as the first single in my opinion. Features Liam on vocals, with Noel providing harmonising backing vocals during the chorus. A blatant rip-off of the Rolling Stones 'Street Fighting Man'. The chorus is annoyingly catchy:

Heeeeeey Ly-la; the stars about to fall.
So what'd you saaaay Ly-la; the world around us makes me feel so small.

2. Boy With The Blues - (3:17)

A raw, punky tune written and sung by Liam. The sound is like a combination of 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' by U2 and 'The Seeker' by The Who. Very raw. Probably would've been a better choice for the first single to be honest. Some lines from the chorus:

So come with me; take away the blues.
Steal the sun; we've got nothing to lose.

A little solo is played in the key of D after the first chorus, and also played again as the song nears it's conclusion. Liam's voice is very strong again, just as it is in 'Lyla'.

3. I Can See It Now - (4:41)

A mostly instrumental track written by Noel. Although, there is a faint vocal towards the end with Noel singing:

I'm alright, I feel fine.
I can see it now; I can see it now.

The track is constructed completely from the ground up. Starts off slow with an acoustic guitar and light drums. At around the 0:50 point, the second "level" of the song begins; powerful electric guitars panned left and right; a thumping bass line right down the middle; and fabulous drum sounds panned across the entire audio spectrum.

At around 2:38, the third "level" begins. From what I can hear; a 3rd electric guitar playing a series of lead notes; a mellotron; and the bass is kicked up another notch. Overall the song sounds fantastic, the vocals at the end provide a nice touch as well.

BY FAR the best "instrumental" song Oasis have ever done. After listening, you will feel like you've just been through an emotional journey of sorts.

Usually I'm not a big fan of releasing instrumental songs as bonus tracks or B-sides. But 'I Can See It Now' is something special.

Overall, I think this is a very good single package. The A-side is catchy and should get more than enough radio play; and these are the 2 best b-sides on any Oasis single since 'Go Let It Out' (Let's All Make Believe, Cigarettes In Hell.)
