The stellar career of Ricky Martin has delighted our lives forever, with his music, his performances, his courage, his revealing book and his new creation, Music + Soul + Sex

The most respected and talented artist of our time, created the Ricky Martin Foundation, a nonprofit organization to assist millions of homeless in the world. With his music has come to love people from all over the world, selling more than 60 million albums, winning the most prestigious awards, singing in front of crowds; revolutionize the Latin crossover and continues to surprise us ... as a father of beautiful twins , with his revealing biography and his latest creation, Music + Soul + Sex, which became the # 1 album on the Billboard Latino generated sales in its first week.

After five years as part of the group Menudo, Ricky released his first solo single, Ricky Martin, in 1991. He also appeared in television and theaters in Mexico without much significance. In a General Hospital American novel portrays a Puerto Rican singer and in 1999, after several albums in Spanish, launches its first English album also titled Ricky Martin which includes salsa-stylе song, Livin 'la Vida Loca. Ricky simple with this explosive is positioned as the most prominent figure of Latin pop. Catchy music and lyrics is reflected in the mind of the hearer, and is humming uncontrollably. This album sold 17 million copies and became the preferred international artist around the world.

His other albums released later include A Medio Vivir, Vuelue, Sound Loaded, Life and the compilation album, Ricky Martin 17. Grammy Awards launch in 1999 Ricky to stardom for his outstanding performance in The Cup of Life, earning him an unprecedented standing ovation, as Andrew Essex of Entertainment Weekly reported.

And in 2010 announced to the world openly about his homosexuality, getting the respect and acceptance of all its fans and the world in general. Twins, Matteo and Valentino Ricky born in 2008 and feels he finally has a full life.

We met Ricky at the prestigious Soho House hotel in Miami Beach on November 19. Ricky came to the photo shoot very happy and willing to work. While the photos we took looked at Ricky, glad of the outcome of the images he saw. We spent the afternoon with the singer taking pictures and listening to his new music with his small team.

Francis Bertrand-Congratulations on the record, I love "Music + Soul + Sex"

Ricky Martin-Really? Thank you, man! There, leaving the skin, as they say in these recordings.

F-My favorite songs are Te Busco y te Alcanzo, y Tú y yo.

R-Really? I can make you question what you expected when you heard? What do you expect the album? Before you listen, what you thought you were going to listen?

F "Your topics are diverse, and I like the rhythm of your songs, songs that I like are your ballads and back. The industry has a lot of dance music, and that really expected to be the focus. I love that in your ballads like your voice is heard louder.

R-Ah, thanks man! Look, honestly when I started to write this, I really wanted to dance and dance and dance, I wanted to do something very danceable but whereas I was writing the music stopped to work on the book. By doing everything changed, because when I started writing my book I had no idea what was going to try. I thought writing a book about my foundation. Then when I finished, and I am again in the studio with Desmond Child, the blank canvas that I was beginning to take other colors that I had no idea existed, everything was born from another place within me. A lyrical level, because we are trying to let you know where I am, without preaching, is the least we want to do. Musical level, doing what one likes without trying to fall into what is happening on the street, no. There are always the remixes and there are always different versions that can come in and do a "crossover" for different genders. Always trying to maintain the dignity of the music because I love being in a studio and see how it sounds, how to record a flute, or how to record a good bass, good battery, and because I think that was the most fun for me in this process than writing. Soul Music + For + Sex, if he had known had been very boring life, we go with music, because my life is music, soul, because I've gone through one of the most spiritual moments of my life, and sex, because Life without sex is not life and because sex is also very spiritual.

F-And songs like "You and I talk about the connection between two people ...

A. Yes, and yes, I did not want to limit genres to sing .... I left quite open, so that man sing to women, for women to sing to women, for men to sing to the man and the woman sings to man.

F-The album is the ballad of your life, and I love it. With songs like "Enough is a release note in your voice and a new force ...

R-I tore a little, is true. Enough for me is the revolutionary call for calm, to detachment, the road, the balance, I believe that when I sing, of course, I speak for myself and my history but anyone can relate to. It's a song about being ch arged enough of things that are not needed, which limits us, enough of the secrets, enough to keep seduced by the ego, and that song is clearly speaking of where I am right now in a very transparent. On the other hand, I feel I have so much fun every time I hear More

F-Let's talk about your book that I last year.

R-I started writing my book as a challenge, because someone told me write!, Write! I said 'no, I can', yeah, you can!, I said. And I wondered what I write?. And I said, 'Well Ricky, all that you have lived, your foundation, your trip to India, your spirituality. " I started writing about my foundation, but my foundation was created by my need to travel and go to India, and this comes from my need to be alone and do not follow any route since it has more than 15 years working like crazy. I felt very invaded by the press as is, or people who wanted to know more about me, a little more than I was willing to give at that time. Obviously, I started to get closer to my nature, as I wrote. It was a very painful at times, and a very liberating and also came moments of laughter and was a process that I wish everyone could have it because I came much closer to my center, it was wonderful. Part of what I did was look at my children and I say well, what I can do for my children to grow up with high self-esteem, dignity, without any self-denial? And that is what I had to teach them, and for that I had to, as they say, pick up the house, and start looking in the mirror and speak truths and that was my year practically.

F-I loved the variety of angles you covered in your book, you write specific issues in your foundation. You talk about human trafficking in other countries, great human tragedy

R-activism manifests itself in myriad ways. In the war that we activists against human trafficking, there is lobbying, there is that creates awareness through the media, there is a person who goes straight into the field, the field, and rescue victims. There is also the activist, who after a victim rescues gives rehabilitation. What I mean is that in people who are working against slavery in a new era I decided that the most practical way that my work can create some kind of impact was talking to the media about it. Fortunately, I think that being honest and raw when discussing this issue so horrible, has attracted attention and people are already talking about it.

F-Tell me about your foundation ...

R "Right now our priority, apart from creating awareness, I want to have something tangible, I want that there is a legacy that my children can see and my grandchildren can see them when I'm gone. We are creating a holistic center in a small town in Puerto Rico called Loiza. It will be a center where children are sexually exploited at work or can go and serve them shelter and we will channel their energies, their angers, frustrations and will be a mega center. That is our priority at the moment, we are raising funds to carry it out because it is a nonprofit foundation, I can not give all the money, you'll lose the benefits of that organization. But there we go, little by little. I think it will be a year of pretty intense, for the tour of this disc and the center's construction.

F-Have you changed your priorities with your kids?

R-Well for starters, I was totally a night owl before. And now I wake up every morning at 7-8 am with my children, that I really love. Now I prefer the day than night. Every day is something new, every day I learn from my children, I think more than what they learn from me. They have taught me the importance of simplicity and the importance of wonder. Sometimes we grow and become immune to the ability to amaze and I think it is tragic to lose that. I've come to feel since my children were born because I see in your eyes every day and it strengthens me a lot.

F-Tell me about the importance of being Latino ...

R-I think at this point, most wonderful to be Latino is to capture or recover, in one way or another, the respect and dignity, after many, many years of history where we have suppressed in many aspects . Whether for political, ideological, religious. I feel a massive release at the continent and a palpable desire for improvement that will benefit many generations from now. Many generations of Latin, not Latin.

Relentless worker, versatile and talented, Ricky Martin is a source of pride for all Latinos and that thrills with its rhythm, songs of love and magic to a universal audience.
