Seppe Smits - World Championship Snowboarding : loaded with 2 medals! Mission accomplished at World Championship Snowboarding for Seppe! He leaves with a bronze and a golden medal! 19year old Seppe Smits, from the flat country of Belgium, has just become the very first FIS-backed World Champion of Slopestylе Snowboarding last weekend in La Molina, Spain. Seppe also placed 3rd in the FIS World Championship Big Air on Jan. 15, behind Canada's Zack Stone and Finland's Petja Piirionen. Conditions at the FIS World Championships freestylе venues have been less than ideal, due to weather. Most big air competitions held so far this season - including the TTR Air & stylе, Beijing that Smits placed second at in December - have been won with a 1260 variation. Due to the smaller size of the jump in La Molina, and the softness of the landing, competitors were held to 1080 variations during the finals. "Slopestylе is the most complete part of snowboarding", says Seppe, "it's a combination of all different parts, where creativity and skills are crucial". We welcomed Seppe back in Belgium with our Wings Team. But that wasn't all+ The Red Bull Defender, together with Seppe's brother, arrived at the airport too: picking-up Seppe and bringing him to the World Champ party we've set-up. In a local bar in his howetown; family, friends, fans,+ welcomed our belgian hero! Big Up for Seppe!
