Hello, My Daughter is starting Kindergarten this week and I am a bit concerned about what was told to my Wife during the orientation last week. We were told that the aid for the Kindergarten this year will be split between the two classes for only 17 hours per week, and thus, parental involvement in the room will be cut back because the teacher can't watch the kids and the parents at the same time. We hope that's not true because parental involvement is one of the factors that helped us decide to start her in public school rather than pursing a private school. Thankfully, my Daughter has Mrs. Ford and she seems wonderful, but I heard that the new teacher hired for the other class is already out on maternity leave. Now, I don't begrudge anyone maternity leave but did the SC know this when they hired a new teacher? Now the other kids will have a substitute and I have to wonder if this will take Mrs. Ford away from her class. I can't imagine being a substitute and not needing help.Anyone heard anything new about this? Please help I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
