I'd just get the Apex if you're only getting the 408. It has the same blower as the Apex. If you're getting an Everest, get a 650HP. That said, you'll only use that machine's potential if you dual wand frequently. Apex is more than needed for single wand and can dual wand well too.
I own a new Apex and it is not equipped with e-idle but I do not think I would like it. And the reason why is because it's too much to keep track of and pretty much my machine works non-stop once we get going. And, more to break.
I don't know why you'd want your machine to just sit and idle for an extended period after you start working.
