I don't think this is a hardware problem, since this started being a problem after I upgraded to windows 10.1. My laptop is an Asus X502CA. Anyway, when I plug my headphones in to the sound jack (the only 3.5 mm jack available) something gets confused and my built in microphone no longer functions, but I can hear through my headphones fine. This makes skype and other communication software impossible to use. I used to be able to unplug my headphones and plug them back in a few times and my laptop would finally get it that my headphones were in fact headphones and not a mic, but for some reason that doesn't work anymore. Are there any fixes for this? Please Help. Thanks ! I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
